IT ALL STARTED WITH A LITLE IDEA TO BRING SOME UNEXPECTED ART DOWNTOWN
Joshua and Carla developed the idea to wrap the utility boxes downtown after brainstorming what could be done to bring some art to an unexpected surface downtown (almost ten years ago, already!) They presented the idea to some of the committees Downtown Oshkosh, and a few years later, the Beautification and Improvement District office was able to approve this project and rally up some lovely sponsors to make the project happen.
Once approved, the next step was figuring out the content of the wraps! Along with the Downtown BID office, we decided that the best content would be to showcase our town’s history. The Oshkosh Public Museum gladly provided us access to their image archives to find some of the most inspiring and beautiful photos to showcase a multitude of facets of Oshkosh history. The Oshkosh Public Library also generously provided wonderful imagery and history for their facility, as well.
We were able to take the photos and manipulate them in photoshop to improve quality, and add washes of bright and bold hues to the images, then print and install them!
Once we had all of the wraps designed and history understood, we created a bold and fun brand identity for the project that visually represented the nature of the project - unique, unexpected, and historical!
Next step? Let us know what city YOU would like to bring the Power of History to!
